The Jade Buddha Temple, built in 1882, lies in the west of the center of Shanghai. Carving an area of 8400 square meters, the temple is famous for its two jade statues of Sakyamuni. One is in sitting position and the other is in reclining position. Both statues are of great artistic value and regarded as treasures of Buddhism in China.

Yu Yuan Garden was first built in 1559 with an area of 2 hectares. It is famous for its charming pavilions, delightful grottoes, beautiful lotus ponds, quaint bridges and trickling streams. The art of decoration also finds expression in the brick engravings and wood carvings. All these reflect the style of architecture of southern gardens in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The five dragon walls with different postures separate the garden into different sections. Once in 1853 the Small Sward Society made it the headquarters during the uprising.

Shanghai Museum located in the center of Shanghai in People's Square. The total area of the construction is around 39,000 square meters. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower stands by the bank of Huangpu River , it is in the center of Lujiazui, opposite to the Bund. With the height of 468 meters, the tower is the highest TV tower in Asia and the third highest one in the world. The tower has sightseeing floor in the upper sphere, which is 263 meters high. There are also revolving restaurant, disco hall, and piano bar and KTV rooms there. The revolving restaurant revolves one circle within one hour. The space module is at the height of 350 meters. Nanjing Road is a famous walking commercial street, which is always busy, crowded with people. The 5.5-km long Nanjing Road extends from the bund to the Jingan Temple. Nanjing Road was built after the Opium War (1839-1842). It was opened as a treaty port. Later it became the British Concession. It was the earliest shopping street in Shanghai. After the People’s Republic of China was founded it was expanded and renovated and became the China’s First Commercial Street. There were a lot of large traditional department stores were built there. But now it is a very modern shopping street. Numerous famous brand commodities from China and all over the world are sold there. There are also world-famous food vendors, coffee shops lining both sides of the street. It is really pleasant to stroll on Nanjing Road in the night. Flashing neon signs illuminate the magnificent buildings and spangle the night skyline that make you feel you are in the paradise of the world.

The Bund is a section of riverfront along the Huangpu River in Shanghai which until the early 1800s was undeveloped. The British set up their consulate and other buildings there after the Opium War. In the early 1900s the Bund sprouted up with buildings designed by architects from foreign countries. The most famous and attractive sight which is at the west side of the Bund are the 52 various buildings of different architectural styles including Gothic, Baroque, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance. Many of these buildings were the best in Asia for that time. Most of them are bank buildings. The others are commercial buildings, national organizations, restaurants, clubs, press etc.

It is decorated luxuriously with the natural marbles. Tourists may have a broad view of the grand metropolitan scenery along the Huangpu River and the mouth of Yangtze through the glass curtain wall. The two lifts running at 9.1 meters a second may take tourists from the first floor to the 88th sightseeing hall within 45 seconds. There are also five to six elevators every 10 floors, which reduce waiting-time to 35 seconds even during rush hours.
Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, the central business district (CBD) area in the Pudong District of Shanghai is a world-class business district. Lujiazui has seen rapid development since its inception in 1993. By 2002, 121 financial organizations had entered the zone, including 56 foreign financial organizations and 43 foreign banks. It is the most modern and prosperous area in Shanghai and China.

Zhujiajiao is Located at suburb of Shanghai city, is an ancient water town. With a history of more than 1700 years it covers an area of 47 square kilometers today. Zhujiajiao is one of the best-preserved four ancient towns in Shanghai. It is famous for its picturesque scenery and tranquil environment. It is also called Shanghai’s Venice. The Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen, at No.7 Xiangshan Road, Shanghai, which is a two-storey European-style building. Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925) was the great pioneer of the Chinese democratic revolution, the founder of the Republic of China. From 1918 to 1925, he and his wife, Mrs. Song Qingling lived here. It was here that Mr. Sun accomplished his renowned masterpieces such as Doctrines of Sun Wen, Plans of China's Development, etc. He reformed the Nationalist Party, advocated People’s Three Principles (Nationalism, Democracy and the People's Livelihood) and put forward the three cardinal policies (alliance with Soviet Russia, cooperation with the Communists and assistance to the workers and peasants). It was also here that he received the representatives of the Communist Party of China and Russia thus caused the first cooperation between the two major parties in Chinese modern history.
On March 4, 1961, the Former Residence of Sun Yat-sen was designated by the State Council as one of China's first major government-protected cultural sites.
Most of the exhibits displayed in the residence are original and arranged as they were in the 1920s and 1930s according to Song Qingling's recollections. The sitting room and the dining room are on the ground floor. Upstairs are the study, the bedroom and a small sitting room. Attached to this building is a two-storey outbuilding originally designed as a garage. In front of the residence is a beautiful garden.
